Our Doctor of Audiology administers hearing tests to patients ranging from infants to adults.
We will administer a variety of tests to determine the degree of hearing loss and the type of hearing loss you may have. After the evaluation, our audiologist will explain the results to you, and you will meet with an ENT physician to review the results of the hearing test and discuss any medical issues that may be impacting your hearing.
During the hearing aid consultation, our audiologist will work closely with you to determine the best hearing aid for you based on your degree of hearing loss, your individual preferences, and your budget. After the selection of a hearing aid, we will make sure that the hearing aid is fit to your ear, and we will program the hearing aid to ensure optimal performance and comfort. We will show you how to use and care for hearing aids. Follow-up with the audiologist may be required to make fine re-programming adjustments over time to ensure you are getting the best performance from your hearing aids.
Tinnitus can be a bothersome and alarming condition when it first occurs or even when it has been present for many years. We will perform hearing tests to evaluate you for any hearing loss and to evaluate your middle ear function. An ENT physician will examine your ears and take a detailed medical history to help understand the cause of your tinnitus. We will discuss management options for your tinnitus, including lifestyle modifications, tinnitus suppression (sound generators), and hearing aids.
Our Board-Certified Ear, Nose, and Throat physicians will perform a detailed medical history and focused physical examination and will review your hearing test results to diagnose and treat any potential medical conditions associated with your hearing loss.
At Scottsdale Hearing Center, we offer custom-molded ear plugs for both hearing protection and to prevent water from entering the ear. If you are in a profession or have hobbies with significant noise exposure, it is important to protect your hearing because cumulative loud noise exposure is a well-known risk factor for hearing loss. If you are a swimmer and need to prevent water from entering your ear canals because you have ear tubes or a hole in the eardrum, we can provide custom molded as well as size-specific ear plugs for your needs.
